Life with Archie #36: Magazine cover
Twin brother team Pat & Tim Kennedy (pencils) have been long-time Archie Comics artists, and have drawn the ‘Archie Marries Betty’ segment of the book for much of the series, as well has having worked on my many stories printed in the standard Archie digests and comic books!
Bob Smith (inker) has been with Archie for 16 years. An all-round fun guy and occasional Jazz musician, Bob got his start inking the ‘Archie’ title and has been inking the ‘Archie Marries Veronica’ segment of Life With Archie for much of the series.
Rosario ‘Tito’ Peña (colors) is the in-house colorist at Archie Comics—and when we say ‘the,’ we mean ‘the man’! Tito has rendered almost every Archie Comics cover that has been published in his sixteen years at Archie Comics.
LWA #36 – Adam Hughes cover
A staple of the comic book industry, Adam Hughes is notable for his work on DC Comics’ Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and many more. This is Hughes’ first venture with Archie Comics.
LWA #36 – Fiona Staples
A Hugo, Harvey and Eisner Award winner, Fiona Staples first came on board at Archie with a Josie & The Pussycats collector’s cover to Life With Archie #24. She has since created covers for Archie, Betty & Veronica and The Fox with us!
LWA #36 – Mike Allred
Harvey and Eisner-nominated artist duo Mike Allred (pencils, inks) and his wife Laura Allred (colors), notable for their work on the current Silver Surfer comic published by Marvel Comics, have worked with Archie Comics before, on a variant cover to the Red Circle series The Fox.
LWA #36 – Ramon Perez
Ramon Perez is a multiple-award winning cartoonist best known for his graphic novel adaptation of Jim Henson’s Tale Of Sand for publisher Archaia Entertainment. He began his career at Archie with a collector’s cover version of Life with Archie #28, and has since created additional covers for Archie. Perez recently cited Archie as the first comic book he ever read, and a major influence on his work.
LWA #36 – Francesco Francavilla
Francesco Francavilla is well-known and highly regarded for his work on his own series The Black Beetle. He is also the genius artist behind Afterlife with Archie (Teen+), the concept of which was planted as a seed when Francavilla created a zombie-themed collector’s cover for Life With Archie #23.
LWA #37 – Alex Ross
Famed industry veteran Alex Ross is an Eisner Award winner and a National Cartoonists Society Award Winner. Most notable for his painted interiors, covers and design work. He has worked with DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dynamite, Image Comics and now—for the first time ever—Archie Comics.
LWA #37 – Walt Simonson
Walt Simonson is a noted comics veteran and four-time Shazam Award winner, best known for his work on Marvel Comics’ Thor. Simonson (pencils, inks) is also no stranger to the Archie-verse! He created collector’s cover version for Archie’s “Clod of Thunder” storyline in Archie #648.
Glenn Whitmore (colors) has been working on digest and comic book interiors at Archie for nearly a decade. Along with Life with Archie writer Paul Kupperberg, is one of the only creators to have worked on ever single issue of Life with Archie, coloring every single story in both the ‘Archie Marries Veronica’ and ‘Archie Marries Betty’ storylines.
LWA #37 – Cliff Chiang
Cliff Chiang is a former Assistant Editor for DC Comics, also known for his work illustrating Green Arrow/Black Canary. This Life with Archie cover is Cliff Chiang’s first work with Archie Comics.
LWA #37 – Jill Thompson
Jill Thompson is a multiple Eisner Award-winner well-known for her work on Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman series as well as her own title, The Scary Godmother. Thompson first touched down in Riverdale in a now-famous watercolor sketch of Jughead and Betty in 2011. She has since created collector’s covers for Archie and Betty & Veronica.
LWA #37 – Tommy Lee Edwards
The multi-talented Tommy Lee Edwards works in comics, advertising and concept development. He has worked on comics titles including Dark Horse’s Hellboy, and Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel 1985. He is joining Archie Comics for the first time!

Jeff Shultz (pencils/rendering) an almost 25-year veteran of Archie Comics, Jeff Shultz currently draws interiors on both Archie and Betty & Veronica. While he’s an accomplished penciler and artist here in Rverdale, it is especially worth keeping an eye out for his vintage-inspired collector’s covers!
